Some very special guests joined us for the launch of the 2015 Starburst Campaign on December.
Ian and Betty Wilson are among a diminishing number of Second World War veterans who are still together. They met and fell in love 70 years ago. Ian is now a resident at Deer Lodge. He served in France as part of the RCAF’s No. 411 Spitfire Squadron. Betty served in the RAF.
Col. Andy Cook, Wing Commander of 17 Wing/CFB Winnipeg, presented Ian and Betty with Certifcates of Recognition, signed by the Prime Minister in honour of their service to our country. He also presented Betty with Her Majesty’s Armed Forces Veterans Badge and the War Medal 1939-1945.
We are incredibly honoured to be part of their story!
