Why Outpatient Care at Deer Lodge Centre Is So Important
Deer Lodge Centre is home to several unique and highly specialized outpatient services. The Movement Disorder Clinic is the only outpatient clinic in Manitoba specializing in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. The Motor Neuron Disease Clinic is the only outpatient clinic in Manitoba specializing in the treatment of ALS. The Operational Stress Injury Clinic is the only outpatient clinic offering mental health supports and treatment to Canadian Forces service members, Veterans, RCMP members, and their families.
Deer Lodge Centre’s Speech-Language Pathologists also support all 37 Winnipeg personal care homes with swallowing assessments and provide the only outpatient speech-language pathology service offering gender-affirming voice treatment.
These programs matter because they help people access specialized care without leaving the province, losing connection to community, or navigating their condition alone.
