Teeing Off for a Cause: The 2023 Charity Golf Classic (Presented by Food Fare)

Golf enthusiasts and philanthropists came together in a magnificent display of community spirit at the 2023 Deer Lodge Centre Foundation Charity Golf Classic. This annual event, held this year on July 6 at Breezy Bend Golf & Country Club, proved to be a remarkable success, raising $80,245 for Deer Lodge Centre’s upcoming courtyard refurbishment project. With its unique blend of golfing, generosity, and fun, the tournament showcased the power of sport to make a positive impact on our province.

The golf classic featured a captivating tournament format that challenged players of all skill levels. From seasoned professionals to enthusiastic amateurs, each participant brought their A-game to the fairways. The event included various competitions, such as longest drive and closest-to-the-pin challenges, adding an extra layer of excitement and friendly rivalry to the day.

Thank you to our generous sponsors and supporters

The tournament attracted a diverse range of participants, including avid golfers, local businesses, and compassionate individuals committed to supporting Deer Lodge Centre. Thank you so much to Foodfare for coming on board AGAIN as the presenting sponsor. We’d also like to send a special shout-out to Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery (Cart Sponsor), Alsip’s Building Products & Services (Golf Gift Sponsor), Building Products & Concrete Supply LP (Registration Sponsor), and Richardson & Luik Financial Services Ltd (Dinner Reception Sponsor).

Beyond the sporting aspect, the golf classic aimed to raise funds for the planned refurbishment of the Deer Lodge Centre courtyard space. The existing courtyard, originally designed in 1987, is restrictive and unappealing. More importantly, it fails to meet the needs of residents and patients. A new Courtyard, resplendent in appearance, therapeutic for all who venture there and reflective of new science that champions the natural environment for mental and physical wellbeing, is planned and your generous support will help to make it a reality.

We’ll see you next year!

The 2023 Deer Lodge Centre Foundation Charity Golf Classic proved to be an extraordinary event that combined the love of golf with the power of philanthropy. Through unwavering community support and the dedication of participants, the tournament successfully raised funds and awareness for a cause that touches the lives of many.

We can’t wait to golf with you again next year!
